TJ, who has a wide range of responsibilities at SGA, derives satisfaction from every stage of a project’s lifecycle. Each phase, he believes, offers rewards. In his view, the design process is characterized by creativity, where flexibility and ideas are the key to problem-solving for clients. He enjoys the documentation component for very different reasons. Here he can apply SGA’s guidelines and standards, which he finds refreshing. And with construction, everything comes together. Whether TJ is involved in design studies or documentation, he consistently displays this positive outlook.
Most of TJ’s work centers on the commercial market, where he collaborates with design directors to deliver the most innovative and transformative advances in sustainability and urban design. He finds projects with environmental components especially rewarding because he is eager to mitigate the impact that buildings have on earth’s ecology.
TJ has been part of SGA’s architectural discipline since 2014. He joined the firm after graduating from Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he received both a Bachelor of Science in architecture and a Master of Architecture. During his studies, he completed two internships, one of which was at SGA.
Outside of the office, TJ moonlights as a captain onboard the Provincetown II, a 500-ton, 200-foot-long vessel. He also enjoys snowboarding and playing hockey.
