Nikhil works on all phases of projects in a variety of sectors: commercial, life sciences, and residential. He particularly enjoys conceptual design, as that allows for a free flow of ideas resulting in innovative design solutions. Nikhil focuses on creating spaces that address ecological, cultural, and social challenges. One of his objectives is to link design strategies to the needs of communities, enriching their experiences and environments while prioritizing sustainability.
Before joining SGA, Nikhil served as an architectural designer for Building Data Labs in New York. There he specialized in the development of BIM models and multi-objective generative design for commercial, multifamily, and mixed-use projects. Prior to that, he ran his own practice as a licensed architect in India, working on a range of commercial and residential projects across several cities. One of his favorite projects involved reviving stepwells in Jodhpur as water reservoirs and community spaces.
Nikhil earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Aayojan School of Architecture in Jaipur and a Master of Science in architecture and urban design from Pratt Institute in New York. Outside of the office, Nikhil enjoys cooking meals inspired by a variety of cuisines, sampling the vast range of New York’s food offerings, and “nerd-ing” about Formula 1 racing.
