Lauren, who specializes in the academic sector, serves as a designer, planner, programmer, team manager, and business development lead. This combination of external- and internal-facing roles is perfect for her: She loves to grow and maintain client relationships, mentor young professionals, and work through complex projects that realize an institution’s vision. Over the course of her career, she has developed a reputation for blending beautiful design with practical programming.
Before joining SGA, Lauren served for eight years as a senior designer, planner, and leader of the academic team at CBT Architects. Previously she worked at CannonDesign as an architectural designer. In both positions she gained experience in master planning and in a wide variety of building typologies, including libraries, performing and visual arts centers, chapels, science and technology facilities, student centers, maker spaces, and more.
Lauren earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two young kids (Quinn and Beck), and the family’s cockapoo named Rhubarb. Before the children came along, she and her husband traveled frequently to Europe. Now they focus more on the United States, but hope to go back abroad soon. They also like to hike in the woods behind the family’s house in Melrose, MA.
