Wilmer brings extensive expertise in technology to his role at SGA. Throughout his architectural career, he has specialized in REVIT, visualization, renderings, animation, parametric design, and digital design. As a job captain, he integrates this software into projects ranging from massing to curtain wall design to interior detailing.
Several of Wilmer’s current commissions are related to life sciences, but he also has extensive experience in mixed-use skyscrapers and retail. His first job after graduate school was at Tiffany & Co., where he served as a job captain on the development of a new store format. He was subsequently appointed job captain at KPF, where he honed his skills in REVIT. In his next position as job captain at Gensler, he trained colleagues on the software. Most recently, he worked at Li Min Ching Architects, focusing primarily on preparing construction documents for tall buildings.
Wilmer earned Bachelor of Architecture degrees from the Universidad de San Buenaventura in Colombia and Pratt Institute, and a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University. Outside of the office, he enjoys bodybuilding and playing softball – He was a proud member of the Gensler team in the architectural league. A native of Colombia, Wilmer enjoys learning languages. Besides English and Spanish, he speaks French and Italian, and he’s trying to learn Mandarin and Hindi.
