Richard, who has nearly four decades of experience, oversees every phase of a project from the start through the evolution of the design to construction documentation. He especially enjoys working in the realms of life sciences and higher education, his areas of focus at SGA, because they are so complex.
Previously Richard served as a project manager for three years at CBI Consulting, an architectural design and structural engineering firm based in Boston. There he expanded his portfolio to include public projects. Earlier in his career, he spent 15 years at Shepley Bulfinch, where he specialized in large-scale healthcare and laboratory commissions. In the intervening time, he consulted on the design of exterior curtain walls, one of his favorite facets of architecture.
Richard earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Boston Architectural College. Outside of the office, he and his family go skiing in New Hampshire or Maine or go hiking in parks. Joining them on local excursions is Finn, a young Goldendoodle with a distinctive personality, who keeps everyone entertained.
