Maad strives to incorporate principles of ancient and modern architecture continuum into his projects while infusing each with creative details. With these goals in mind, he plays a major role in conceptual and schematic design. He also oversees all subsequent stages of a commission, from test-fits to construction administration.
Although Maad works across multiple sectors and building types, he specializes in core and shell for life sciences and mixed-use facilities. Core and shell projects are a natural outgrowth of his previous career as a professional engineer (structural and civil), which lasted eight years before he moved into the field of architecture.
Before joining SGA, Maad served as a job captain at DPS Global, an international architecture and engineering firm based in Framingham. During his three years there, he honed his skills in life sciences and pharmaceutical projects.
Maad earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and structures from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt; a Master of Architecture from MassArt; and a post-graduate diploma in concrete design from the American University in Cairo. His international experience extends beyond Egypt to Germany, Turkey, Libya, Morocco, and Jordan, but Maad is very much at home in Massachusetts. Outside of the office, he enjoys drawing, painting, and spending time with his seven-year-old son.
