The phases of a project that Kailey enjoys most are the initiation, when ideas are tossed around and excitement is in the air, and the conclusion, when clients see a completed space. She observes their facial expressions and their reactions, and she draws inspiration from these moments.
In bridging the gap between launch and conclusion, Kailey supports every stage of design and production. On any given day, her responsibilities might include drafting, presenting plans to clients, or selecting finishes.
When Kailey joined SGA in February of 2021, it was a return of sorts: She had worked at the firm in 2016 through a cooperative program. In the intervening years, she served as a designer at Dyer Brown, as a project designer at Fusion Design Consultants, and as a junior designer at PROCON. Her most recent experiences centered on fit-outs for corporate tenants. At SGA, she continues to focus on this sector while adding life sciences to her project portfolio.
Kailey earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Outside of the office, she hikes, practices yoga, cooks, and travels. While she was growing up, she spent her vacations on St. John, an island in the Caribbean where her grandparents owned a house. As for expeditions closer to home, those typically take the form of walks with her “sassy” cat Hex.
