John brings more than three decades of experience in architecture to SGA. His specialty is project management, which he enjoys because of its “renaissance” characteristics: Practitioners must have knowledge about many different aspects of the buildings industry. Such wide-ranging expertise enables swift solutions at every stage of a commission.
Since joining SGA in 2018, John has specialized in high-profile developments in the urban, commercial, and mixed-use markets. His day-to-day responsibilities include management of design staff and consultants, and oversight of document production, budgets, and project schedules.
Previously, John served as an associate principal/senior project manager at CBT Architects in Boston. During his 14-year tenure there, he focused on prominent facilities in higher education throughout the U.S. and overseas. His experience also encompassed commercial developments and master planning. Earlier in his career, he held the position of architectural urban planner for nearly eight years at Boston-based Tams Consultants, a firm noted for its work in the transportation market.
John received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wheaton College in Illinois and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. Outside of the office, he enjoys vintage motor racing, painting, and anything that rolls on rail.
