Who We Are

Hadiza Djibring, AIA

Lab Planner

Hadiza chose to specialize in laboratory planning because the field has a positive impact on the world. As she explains, her clients seek to improve lives and eradicate disease. She also appreciates the opportunity to expand her knowledge of new developments in science through each building or renovation project that she undertakes.

Hadiza’s role at SGA centers on feasibility, schematic design, and design development. She meets regularly with clients and users to determine organizational needs and appropriate layouts.  Every project requires a thorough analysis of equipment locations, environmental impact, and accommodation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Previously Hadiza served as a laboratory planner at Jack L. Gordon Architects, where she honed her experience in planning for both life sciences and healthcare. Earlier she gained experience in these same sectors as a junior planner at Flad Architects.

A native of Cameroon, Hadiza earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from CUNY College of Technology in New York City.  During her studies, she participated in a Solar Decathlon competition, leading a team that designed and built a zero-energy home that runs on solar power, can be stacked up to six stories, and fits into a typical corner lot in New York City.

Outside of the office, Hadiza enjoys attending music festivals and volunteering at animal shelters. She frequently fosters newborn kittens who must be fed every three hours.
