Gunner has worked across many sectors over the course of his 25-year career, but he is especially fond of laboratory projects. He loves working with scientists and creating environments in which they conduct cutting-edge research.
At SGA, Gunner supervises both core and shell projects and tenant fit-outs within the life sciences sector. His responsibilities encompass staffing, budgets, responding to RFPs, managing consultants, and meeting with clients and contractors. He always takes extra care to staff projects appropriately to ensure that teams have the resources they need.
Before joining SGA, Gunner served as a senior project architect at Boston-based R E Dinneen, where he focused on laboratories. Previously, he served as a project manager/project architect at Hardaway Sziabowski in Wellesley, where he gained experience in healthcare services and cannabis facilities, both of which increased his interest in life sciences.
Gunner earned a master’s degree in architecture from Harvard University. Outside of the office, he enjoys seeing operas and ballets, painting abstract expressionist art, and hiking around New England. His husband, an elite rowing coach, introduced Gunner to sculling, which has since become a favorite pastime.
