David enjoys the variety of his responsibilities, which encompass multiple phases of projects for life sciences, office, and mixed-use facilities. A typical day might involve collaborating with colleagues on design strategy, ensuring the accuracy of paperwork, and coordinating construction with general contractors.
Before joining SGA, David served for four years as a job captain at Ismael Leyva Architects, based in New York City. There he specialized in high-rise residential projects. Between his undergraduate and graduate studies, he worked for a firm in Colombia, developing a master plan for the city of Cali. The experience prompted him to study urban design; he continues to maintain a strong interest in how cities change over time.
David earned a Bachelor of Architecture from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Pratt Institute. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking for his friends and family, which he likens to model-making.
