A BIM expert, Bowen has a wide range of experience across many project types, on all phases. He’s most passionate about design, and enjoys collaboration with teams and trades, especially toward the completion of a commission. He welcomes his variety of responsibilities because his ongoing career objective is to learn and grow into a well-rounded architect.
Since joining SGA, Bowen has specialized in life sciences and commercial development in the capacities of designer, BIM manager, and job captain. Previously, he worked at Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA), where he started as an intern in the model shop and worked his way up to the roles of project/job captain, project manager, and BIM manager. During his five-year tenure at RAMSA, he built a portfolio that included master plans, academic institutions, mixed-use properties, and residential high-rises. His experience also encompasses freelance BIM consulting with JBMA and Building Data Labs. In addition, he worked with RSA on single-family residential homes in the Hamptons.
Bowen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from the New York Institute of Technology. During his undergraduate years, he worked for Thomas Kane Development by day and Bank Strom Architects by night on several single-family residential developments. His daytime responsibilities were in construction as a framer and laborer. In the evening, he focused on architectural drawings for the same projects he was helping to build.
In his spare time, Bowen enjoys drawing, painting, design, surfing, physical fitness, and investing. When he’s feeling brave, he performs stand-up comedy at open mics.
