SGA designed a confidential financial firm’s Wakefield office, a 52,000 SF workplace within a suburban campus surrounded by mature landscape. The design takes advantage of the setting, bringing views to the outdoors and natural elements into the workplace while responding to the varied ways employees work, connect, concentrate, and recharge.
A range of settings — from active areas that encourage conversation and collaboration to quieter spaces for focused work, respite, and decompression — gives employees choice in how and where they work throughout the day. Neurodiversity was considered throughout the planning and design, creating a balanced mix of environments that supports different work styles, preferences, and levels of stimulation. The process was highly user-informed, with employee feedback playing a significant role in shaping the planning, amenities, and overall workplace experience.
The design builds on the firm’s established workplace standards, carrying familiar materials, finishes, and visual elements into a setting with its own character while introducing details unique to the Wakefield location. Natural materials, greenery, and subtle brand expressions bring warmth and identity to the space, while the connection to the surrounding landscape reinforces its sense of place. The result is a cohesive and welcoming workplace that maintains continuity across the firm’s broader portfolio while responding specifically to its suburban setting and the people who use it.
